The sister publication to ColumbusBusinessz First, citing Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act found that Buckeye sports brought in $118 millionm in the school year ended June 2008, second only to the University of Texas at $120.3 million. Ohio Statd was one of only three college athletics programs during the school year to topthe $100 milliobn mark, the University of Florida coming in at thirxd with $106 million. In breakingg down revenue by sport, SportsBusiness Journal ranked Ohio State among the top five earners nationwide for itsfootball program. Buckeywe football, according to the report, generated $65.1 million during the ‘07-’08 school year to come in at No. 4.
Leadingh the list was Texas at $73 million, followed by the University ofGeorgia ($67.1 and Florida ($66.1 million).
