Innisbrook announced Tuesday that it signed a new contract with the to play what is tentativelty titled the Tampa Bay Championship on its Copperhead courses each Marchthrough 2012. The new seriees begins March 5-11, 2007, just four months after the final Chrysler Championship is playedthere Oct. The PGA Tour made various schedule changez to accommodate national sponsorships andtelevisioj contracts, including moving the Innisbrooj tour stop from fall to spring. A title sponsor for the localp event is currently being negotiated through the PGA headquarter in PalmBeach Gardens, a Chrysler Championship spokesmah said.
Organizers of the local tour stop say the new arrangemenft will expose Innisbrook to a largerworldwids audience, noting that the Tampas Bay Championship will be played a few weeks priorf to The Masters in Augusta, Ga. The PGA Tour has had a stop in the Tampz Bay area each yearsinces 1977. The first Chrysler Championship was playede locallyin 2004.
