North Carolina is one of four statee that prohibit wage garnishment except inspecial circumstances, such as unpai d taxes or child support. South Carolina and Texas are the Florida restrictsthe practice. The mere threat of a wage seizurse is enough to cause some people toseek bankruptcy-courrt protection, attorneys told The AP.
