American cuts HNL-LAX flights - Pacific Business News (Honolulu):

Spokesman Tim Smith told PBN only two flightd a week out ofthe Honolulu-Los Angeles schedulde will be affected. The airline currently offers 28 flight a week onthe route. The capacitgy reductions take effect Aug. 25. Smith said American Airlines will offer three roundtrips a day two days a week and four roundtripes a day five days a Asof Nov. 19, the airlins will go back to four roundtripe a day seven daysa week. “The averagee person won’t see the difference,” Smith said. Four positionw in Honolulu willbe eliminated, Smith told PBN. He said he was not sure whichu positions would be affected because the company also will offe r early retirement tosome employees.
American Airlines employs 113 peoplein Honolulu. “It’s pretty mild when you comparw it tothe others,” Smithb said. American Airlines, a subsidiary of Fort Texas-based AMR Corp., that it would eliminate approximately 1,60p jobs throughout the company. American Airlines is the fourtjh largest airline serving HonoluluInternational Airport, in termz of the number of passengers according to PBN research.
