The planned improvements includse fixingstructural problems, replacing doors, windows, siding, replacingf deficient water and septic systems and upgrading electrical, heatinf and plumbing systems.
The renovations are aimed at bringin the homes up to code under local and statrbuilding laws. Further funding for the Cheektowaga project’s $833,00 total will come from the town’s HOME fundw ($130,000) and a Community Development Block Grant The City of Lackawanna will fund what remains of its project’s $334,000p total with homeowner-equity The CEDO and LHDC will allocate the funds on a first-come, first-served basis to qualified applicants. “These grants will help improve the aging housing stocok in westernNew York,” said AHC President and CEO Pricillsa Almodovar.
